While New Kent County is the #1 fastest growing county in Virginia, it has planned its growth to maintain its rural atmosphere.


New Kent’s Commercial growth is concentrated around and near the four I-64 interchanges and along the Route 33 Industrial Corridor. The majority of its residential growth is taking place in Planned Unit Developments however all types of housing options are available. In-between two major Metropolitan Statistical Areas, New Kent continues to offer its residents the advantages of a rural community – clean air and water, abundant outdoor recreation, a low crime rate, low taxes, and friendly people.

Neighborhoods

Five Lakes, built around Brookwoods Golf Club in Quinton, is the most established residential subdivision in the county. Numerous cluster style residential developments are under construction in the rural parts of the county.


Planned Unit Developments

At exit 205 Patriots Landing and Rock Creek Villas, an Active Adult Community, are in demand due to their proximity to Richmond and an ever growing array of nearby commercial development. In the Farms of New Kent Planned Unit Development at exit 211, Viniterra, a luxury homes community planned around the New Kent Winery and the Rees Jones Golf Course, The Club at Viniterra, is growing and now has a number of homes available with several more under construction.

Also within the Farms of New Kent, new home construction is occurring in the Arbors and the Groves has completed its Active Adult Community. In central New Kent at exit 214, Brickshire, built around The Brickshire Golf Club and Oakmont Villas & Oakmont Townhomes, built around portions of The Traditions Golf Club at Royal New Kent, are in demand because of their quality and recreational amenities.
