The New Kent County Parks and Recreation Department offers year-round organized recreational opportunities to individuals and families of all ages. Hiking, bird watching, and nature trails are available at Cumberland Marsh Natural Area Preserve, Wahrani Nature Trails, and the New Kent Forestry Center.
Historic Landmarks
New Kent is also home to historic St. Peters Episcopal Church where Martha Dandridge Custis and George Washington worshiped. Historic attractions like Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown and Civil War Battlefields are about 30-minutes away.
A Great Place to Cycle
New Kent is the first county in Virginia to have fully mapped and signed bicycle routes. These bike routes, range from 15- to 100-miles in length and start and end at the New Kent Visitors and Commerce Center on Vineyards Parkway at I-64 Exit 211.
